2017 Môreson Mercator Chardonnay

Vineyard notes

The Mercator has been the cornerstone of our vineyard production on Moreson. Apart from the vineyards designated as sparkling wine, each separate parcel of vineyard is treated as potential Mercator. To date, we have planted 12 different Chardonnay clones on Moreson which comprises 95% of our vineyard surface. Winemaking practices have not changed much over the years other than minor fine tuning we perform in order to ensure we improve each subsequent vintage. The Mercator is now strictly matured in bottle for 1 year prior to release.

Whole bunch pressed and allowed to settle overnight. 3% lees added back. Fermentation at 18˚C in maturation vessels.

Tasting notes

Hints of tropical fruit, lemon and vanilla on the nose. Fruity and fresh, ripe fruit, butter tones, long and balanced finish.
